Hi, my name is Torben R. Uhrenholt – welcome to Terrarite!
The name Terrarite comes from combining Terra (Earth) and Meteorite. It reflects my fascination with how these ancient stones connect our planet with the vastness of space – fragments that have traveled unimaginable distances and timescales before finding their resting place here on Earth.
For me, meteorites are much more than rare objects to collect. They are pieces of deep time – silent witnesses to the creation of our solar system, carrying within them the chemistry, heat, and history of other worlds. Holding one in my hand is like touching the past: billions of years condensed into a single stone. That feeling is both humbling and inspiring, and it’s what keeps my curiosity alive.
I am still very much an amateur enthusiast, but my passion runs deep. I love photographing meteorites, learning their classifications, and uncovering the stories behind each type – whether it’s an iron core remnant from a shattered asteroid, or a stony chondrite filled with tiny chondrules, some of the oldest materials we know.
This website is where I share that passion. It’s a place for images, reflections, and knowledge – not as an expert, but as someone who wants to invite others into the same sense of wonder. Whether you are a seasoned collector, a researcher, or simply someone fascinated by the night sky, I hope Terrarite inspires you to see meteorites as I do: not just rocks, but cosmic messengers.
Thanks for visiting Terrarite. I hope you enjoy exploring the collection as much as I enjoy building it. And if you’d like to connect, you can always find me on LinkedIn
